Description
Silicone sealant market Germany: sales in million cartridges and forecast to 2031
How is the silicone sealant market in Germany developing? Demand for silicone joint sealants is given in million cartridges, converted to the 310 ml cartridge, across all quarters from Q1/2021 to Q4/2031, both as historical market data and forecast.
Silicone sealant is permanently elastic and closes movement and connection joints against water and dirt. Acetoxy-curing grades are standard in bathrooms; neutral-curing grades suit natural stone, metal, mirrors and glass. MS polymer hybrids, acrylic sealants and industrial or insulating glass sealants are excluded. Grout is separate: it fills rigid tile joints, silicone the elastic corners and junctions.
Maintenance defines the product: bathroom joints are typically renewed every eight to ten years, even without a refit. Joint renewal in the growing building stock is the largest item, making demand markedly steadier than construction overall. Other uses are showers, baths, washbasins, WCs, kitchens and tile junctions; non-residential buildings add glass facades, partitions and movement joints. At windows, silicone is used mainly outside and at sills. Hybrid sealants combining adhesive and sealant gain share and slow the recovery.
Which questions about the silicone sealant market does the dataset answer?
- How many cartridges of silicone are used per quarter in new build and renovation?
- What weight do non-residential buildings carry in silicone consumption?
- When do sales bottom out, and how do they develop up to 2031?
- How are sales spread across the quarters of a year?
Who is the dataset for?
Sealant producers, fillers and suppliers of silicone polymers and cartridges plan capacity and purchasing. Wholesalers and DIY stores manage range and stock; tilers, plumbers and glaziers assess order potential. Investors and analysts get a series for a maintenance-driven segment.
Data basis and methodology
Included are the total market and the four segments of new build and renovation in residential and non-residential construction. Volume is derived from linear metres of elastic joint per square metre of floor space for sanitary ware, kitchens, tiles, windows and glass, combined with completions, permits, renovation activity, the silicone share and the building stock for joint renewal. Volumes were derived from stock, equipment and renewal parameters and checked for plausibility against available industry information and internal data.
Delivered as CSV and Excel files, each in German and English, with 44 quarterly values. Related datasets: Grout / joint filler, Bathroom waterproofing membrane, Expanding foam (one-component PU) and all data on paints, construction chemicals and fastening.
