Description
Tubular motor market Germany: sales in million units and forecast to 2031
How is the tubular motor market in Germany developing? The dataset quantifies domestic sales of motor drives for roller shutters, external venetian blinds and awnings in million units, with every quarter from Q1/2021 to Q4/2031 – as historical market data and forecast.
The core product is the tubular motor in the shaft, replacing strap and crank and enabling any sun-shading automation; radio motors, solar drives for retrofits without mains power and electric strap winders are included. Garage and industrial door drives, vent-sash window actuators, interior and pleated blind motors, controls and motors retrofitted into existing shutters without a new curtain are excluded.
Volumes follow the sun-shading market times a motorisation rate that varies sharply by segment. In new build the motor is standard, as the top-mounted shutter in the window box arrives motorised from the window maker. In renovation, retrofitted front-mounted shutters and replacements in rental housing often keep a strap; motors mainly come with new windows. Motorisation is rising everywhere, and shutter drives are the most common smart home application.
Which questions about the tubular motor market does the dataset answer?
- How are tubular motor sales split between new build and renovation, and how does the balance shift by 2031?
- How much weight does non-residential construction carry in motor sales?
- From which year do motor sales rise again, and how do they develop up to 2031?
- How is drive installation spread across the quarters?
Who is the dataset for?
Drive makers plan output and the mix of radio, solar and standard motors; gearbox and electronics suppliers plan volumes. Shutter fabricators, window makers and dealers calculate motor shares, smart home providers assess automated shading, and analysts track the electrification of sun protection.
Data basis and methodology
Results span the total market and all four combinations of new build/renovation and residential/non-residential. The series derives entirely from the data on roller shutters, external venetian blinds and awnings, based on completions, permits and renovation activity: elements per m² times a motorisation rate that differs by segment and product and rises over time. Volumes were derived from stock, equipment and renewal parameters and checked for plausibility against available industry information and internal data.
