Description
Heavy-duty anchor market Germany: anchors in million units and forecast to 2031
How is the heavy-duty anchor market in Germany developing? The dataset measures demand for metal anchors and anchor bolts in million units, quarter by quarter from Q1/2021 to Q4/2031, as historical market data and forecast.
These anchors transfer high loads into concrete and solid masonry where plastic plugs reach their limits. Covered are wedge and sleeve anchors, concrete screws and bonded anchors with injection mortar, used for steel members, brackets, canopies, railings, lift rails, machine foundations and suspended loads in halls. Plastic plugs, facade insulation dowels, construction screws, roof hooks and hanger bolts for solar mounting are excluded.
Every load-bearing anchor needs a European Technical Assessment (ETA). Unlike light fixings, demand centres on non-residential construction: new halls, offices and plant buildings and their conversion. In housing, balconies, railings and canopies drive volumes, plus retrofitted awnings, heat pumps and charging stations. Solar arrays matter only on metal and concrete roofs. The forecast assumes that investment in building services and energy infrastructure supports growth beyond the cycle; weak investment in non-residential construction weighed recently.
Which questions about the heavy-duty anchor market does the dataset answer?
- How is anchor demand split between non-residential buildings and housing?
- What role does conversion of existing non-residential buildings play?
- How far did unit volumes fall during the investment slump, and when do they pick up again?
- How does the weight shift between new build and renovation up to 2031?
Who is the dataset for?
Anchor and injection system manufacturers and steel and wire suppliers plan output and inputs. Technical distributors steer stock; steel, metal and facade fabricators and building services firms assess order prospects. Structural engineers, investors and analysts use the series as an indicator of non-residential construction.
Data basis and methodology
The series covers the total market and four segments: new build and renovation of residential and non-residential buildings. The model links completions, permits and renovation activity with anchor density per m² of floor area, anchors per new dwelling and the share of stock affected each year; installation two quarters before completion is included. Volumes were derived from stock, equipment and renewal parameters and checked for plausibility against available industry information and internal data.
Delivered as CSV and Excel files, each in German and English, with 44 quarterly values. Related datasets: Expansion plug (plastic), ETICS anchor / insulation plate dowel (external thermal insulation composite system), Expanding foam (one-component PU) and all data on paints, construction chemicals and fastening.
