Description

Fire collar market Germany: sales in million units and forecast to 2031

How is the fire collar market in Germany developing? The dataset shows domestic sales of penetration seals for pipes and cables in million units, quarter by quarter from Q1/2021 to Q4/2031 – as historical market data and forecast.

Each sales unit counts once: fire collars (steel sleeves with intumescent inserts for plastic pipes), fire wraps and cans of fire-stop foam for combined cable and pipe seals, all requiring a building approval or European Technical Assessment (ETA). Excluded are fire-stop mortar, sealant and blocks sold by weight, mineral wool sections, fire dampers and ordinary expanding foam.

Seals are needed wherever pipes or cables cross fire-resisting walls and floors. Since the Model Building Code requires these from building class 3 and between units, one- and two-family houses drop out; housing counts only via apartment blocks, where stacks and risers pierce every floor. In non-residential buildings, fitted-out space with dense services sets volume, while halls add little. Riser refurbishment and services renewal steadily gain weight, and demand moves with plastic waste pipes, composite and PE pipes and installation cable.

Which questions about the fire collar market does the dataset answer?

  • How sharply does sealing demand fall in residential new build?
  • What share does renovation reach by 2031?
  • How are sales split between residential and non-residential buildings?
  • In which year do seal sales reach their low point, and how far do they recover afterwards?

Who is the dataset for?

Passive fire protection manufacturers and suppliers of intumescent materials plan production and ranges. Electrical, plumbing and specialist fire protection wholesalers manage stock; plumbers, electricians and firestopping contractors estimate installation work. Fire engineers, inspectors, investors and analysts gauge an approval-driven niche.

Data basis and methodology

The dataset separates total market, new build and renovation, and residential from non-residential buildings. The model combines completions, permits and modernisation with seals per dwelling or per m² of fitted-out floor space, the share of apartment blocks from building class 3 and the rate of renewed risers; installation precedes completion by about two quarters. Volumes were derived from stock, equipment and renewal parameters and checked for plausibility against available industry information and internal data.

Delivered as CSV and Excel files, each in German and English, with 44 quarterly values. Related datasets: Fire protection board (GKF/calcium silicate), Intumescent coating (steel), NYM installation cable and all data on electrical, smart building and security.
